knowledge of the earth, as well as men’s culture and history.
The SOS SOiL team benefits from all these knowledge and experience to shape its actions.
Botanic & Entomology :
• Biodiversity : a study of the local flora biodiversity will give the natural potential available as the outlook for new possible crops geared to traditional markets or niche markets with better added value.
• Phytosociology and entomology related to plants : biodiversity allows us to define production protocols and strategies fitted to each site, defining simultaneous intercropping of complementary plants, green fertilizers and pest control plants and systems, to improve yields, create complementary profits and lessen production costs.
Mycology, bacterial and cellular microbiology :
• Nature’s own chemistry, the knowldge of mycelia & associated bacteria for each type of biotopes and crops, allows to create fertilizing systems, natural protection against diseases and infections from bacteria, micro algae’s, fungi or yeasts : melampsora, blight, mildew…
• Soil as a living food web : protecting strategies against climate change as well as ionic and edaphic exchanges between surface and underground.
Geology assisted by satellite :
• Satellite radar images : For desert lands, we study radar satellite images to discover sustainable sources of water.
• Understand the future of a land and the organisation of agriculture according to Keylines and levels :
The study of surface satellite images allows us to 3D relief map the land, in order to anticipate the erosion as well as design the fields and organise the crops in regards to erosion, water and organic matter captation.
